NARSissist Smokey Eye Kit Brings the Sexy to Fall

Narsissit Smokey Eye Compact

The Narsissist Smokey Eye Kit is the second edition in the Nars Makeup Bag Must Have’s. The Kit contains a compact featuring three of Nars most coveted shades along with a wide contour eyeshadow travel brush and a Via Veneto Larger Than Life Eyeliner. The rich shades of shadow highlighted in the palette include Madrague I, Bali, and Mekong.

So instead of just doing normal arm swatches and saying “Here Ya Go” I’ve decided from now on I want to take my time and really really really get to know the products by using them in looks and seeing how they actually perform. The shades in the palette are nice although the only color to really wow me was Mekong which is an Espresso infused with Gold. Madrague was originally a duo eyeshadow that was split up to give us the Matte Cream side of the Palette. This is a soft shade and with a primer it will show on darker skin. Bali is a Matte Neutral brown shadow. Combined these three shadows make up the perfect smokey eye kit for any complexion.

Nar Smokey Eye Compact Look
Using a “Halo” Technique that I learned at a Makeup Class I decided to take the Smokey Eye Compact for a spin.

1. I lined my eyes both top and bottom lid using the Via Veneto Larger Than Life Eyeliner.

2.Using one of the new Sonia Kashuk 15 Anniversary Brushes I smudged the liners on both my top and bottom lash lines.

3. I then applied Bali to my lid as well as my bottom lash line, blending it in with the pencil.

4. Using the Wide Contour Brush $43, I applied Mekong to my crease and blended it just below my brow bone. I also applied this shade to my lower lash line, blending it in with the other shades.

5. Lastely I applied Madrague to my brown bone and use this shade to blend out any lines of demarcation left from applying Mekong.

6. The finished look!

This palette is a pretty good palette although the only real stand out color to me is Mekong, which if you’re just looking for a shadow can purchase separately. The Wide Contour Brush was super soft and I liked how it allowed for my application of the crease color to go a lot smoother. With this brush I was actually able to really feal the shape of my eye while applying the color. The Narsissist Smokey Eye Kit retails for $59 and can be found online at Narscosmetics.com or at your local Sephora stores or Nars Boutiques.
