This year I wanted to do something a bit different and purchase only Fall Wardrobe Essentials. I didn’t want to go on a shopping spree for items that would only be trendy for the moment or spend tons of money on items that I couldn’t really pair with anything else. As I looked back on how much I spent on clothing last year I just want to faint. I really did some irresponsible reckless “oh that’s cute” spending. So this year I’m taking another approach and setting a budget. For my fall wardrobe essentials I only wanted to spend $1200 and with that amount purchase all clothing shoes and accessories that can also be transitioned and worn throughout winter. While $1200 does seem a bit high I set this limit because I have to purchase another winter coat since mine barely made it through last years freeze. The color black is a staple for anyones wardrobe, it goes with absolutely everything,and most importantly it is slimming.
Though everything I purchased with the exception of the BB Dakota Henrietta Jacket was on sale I spent $687 on all four items. While this does seem a bit much I’m happy that I was able to get key accessories that are perfect for dressing up or dressing down. The Steven by Steve Madden Shoes do run a bit small so I suggest going up a half size for the perfect fit. I splurged on the Prada Baroque Sunglasses. I’ve been wanting them for sooo long and when I ran across a very slightly (like I think they made the scratch up) imperfect pair being offered at a 40% off discounted price at the Sunglass Hut I just knew I had to grab them.

Those sunglasses are amazing. I am in need of a new winter jacket this year too. We moved from Washington state where the climate is dry and not that cold to Wisconsin where it’s frigidly cold. Mama needs a new coat!
