I’m in New Orleans y’all! It’s amazing how when you put dreams and ideas out into the world and trust the process doors just open up for you. Last July, I told my husband that I wanted to visit New Orleans. Since I’m a southern gal at heart for some reason I’ve just felt and overwhelming pull to come visit this amazing city. Fast forward seven months later and here I am experiencing New Orleans in ways I never even imagined thanks to the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. For three days, I’ll be experiencing the sites, sounds, flavors, and culture of New Orleans and I can’t wait to share my experience with you all!

If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already experienced my stay here so far. You can also follow the hashtag #beingmelodyadventures. One thing New Orleans is known for is their amazing cuisine. Tonight I attended a Media preview for the opening of a brand new Restaurant called Purloo which is located inside the Southern Food and Beverage Museum. Afterwards, we would be heading to Bourbon Street to enjoy the music at the Irvin Mayfield Jazz House. The attire was “Dressy Chic” so I decided to go for a High-Medium-Low look featuring Valentino, New York and Company, and Target Style.

When I saw this Black Lace JumpSuit at Target I knew I had to have it. I paired it with my Valentino RockStuds that I scored for an amazing price (read about that here), and a sheer Lace-Trim Kimono Sleeve Flyaway Jacket and jewelry that I picked up from New York and Company during their huge sale. I love that this ensemble was dressy and chic without being restrictive.
