Quick and Easy Wash N Go Routine

Wash N Go, Tapered Fro, Natural Hair

I’ve never been a fan of the whole Wash and Go style. I’ll be honest I was never a fan because I could never get my hair to cooperate. I fell into the trap of watching so many other naturalistas on youtube rock a wash n go and wishing my hair did what there’s did. So for the past four years I’ve completely ditched Wash N Go’s. The term was just not in my vocabulary, that is until I got tired of twisting my hair every weekend. I mean really something had to give. I loved rocking my twist outs, but they were a labor of love. So, the other day after an intense workout (I’m doing the 21 Day Fix) I decided that I would attempt another Wash N Go. Using the KISS method that they teach in school, you know the whole “Keep It Simple Stupid” thing that teachers tell you when they’ve given you this crazy unsolvable math problem? Yea, that method. Surprisingly it actually worked, and I was able to achieve the most amazing Wash N Go!

My products for this look were minimal. I washed my hair using the Isoplus Natural Remedy Shampoo and Conditioner and then proceeded to do the L.O.C method with three of the four remaining products. Seriously, that’s all it took to achieve this style.

To create this Quick and Easy Wash and Go follow these simple steps:

1. Wash and Condition your hair with your favorite products. Right now, I’m loving everything about the Isoplus Natural Remedy line.

2. Apply your Leave in Conditioner. I used the Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Leave in Conditioner

3. Apply your hair oil. I used the Afroveda Shikakai hair oil only because I’m trying to use the product up. I will never in my life order from them again due to their horrible customer service.

4. Finger Comb Cantu Shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream through your hair in sections

5. Follow up with finger combing the Eco Styler Olive Oil Gel throughout your hair the same way you applied the Cantu Curling Cream.

I gave my hair a good shake to lift up the roots and to create some volume. Now, for the most important part DO NOT TOUCH YOUR HAIR! No really, resist all urge to touch and play in your hair. Let your hair do it’s own thing. We often say that our curls have a life of their own and they really do. The will fall into place and curl/coil up as they should. Just trust them.

Below I’m showing you what my hair looks like 30-45 minutes after I’ve done my Wash N Go. You may see some residue left over from the Cantu Curling Cream but as your hair continues to dry it will fade. You will start to notice shrinkage and let’s be honest. SHRINKAGE IS NORMAL! Embrace it! As my hair is shrinking my tapered style is starting to show through making me love the cut even more!

Of course, you were probably wondering what my hair looks like once it’s ocompltely dry! Don’t worry I got cha! The two pictures below are what my hair looks like after a full work day. Notice the white residue is completely gone. Honestly I belive it was gone maybe an hour after applying. If you’re worried about the curling cream lingering too long you can always apply less. I’ll admit I’m heavy handed. I honestly think a wash or co-wash N Go is going to be my favorite style for the summer It was super easy and took less time to do than actually sitting down to twist my hair out.  Another added bonus is that this style last for up to three days depending on your lifestyle. Since I work out I’m able to get about three days out of the style before having to do it again. I can actually look forward to wash days now. Check out the video below to see my FULL process from start to finish on how I achieve this amazing Quick and Easy Wash N Go!

Your hair is really cute Melody! I did a WnG about twice and it was more of a wash, shingle, shingle, shingle, spray with water, shake, shake, shake and then go lol. I’m glad you found an easy method that works for you.
