How I Acheive a Funky yet Healthy Summer Hair Style with Beautiful Textures

I love to have fun with my hair during the summer. I try out bold funky styles with fun and daring colors that  announce to the world that I’m living life on my terms. I mix golden highlights with warm reds and browns to create a color that’s all my own. However, while rocking my summer style I make sure to remember that healthy hair is more important than stylish hair and so I opt to use products that nourish and moisturize my color treated hair all while helping to create defined and textured curls.

One of the biggest problems that naturalistas face when wearing color treated hair is dryness and breakage as bleaching the hair can strip the hair of it’s natural moistures as well as weaken the shaft. To combat these common problems I make sure to do a deep condition weekly switching between using heat or nonheat methods. When deep conditioning your hair you want to use a product that’s will address all your concerns in one.

One of my go to deep conditioners is the Beautiful Textures Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner. It’s a great product for someone who is transitioning, using heat or has color treated hair. The Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner  combats dryness by restoring the hair’s natural moisture balance as well as restoring elasticity to help prevent breakage. You’ll definitely notice how soft and smooth and defined your curls are after using the deep conditioner. I love to use it with heat so after applying I place a plastic cap on my hair and sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes or however long an episode of a show I’m catching up on last. It’s like the ultimate treat for my hair and my curls will feel soft as butter once I’m done.

The next most important step in rocking my funky fro for the summer is the style. With the summer heat and humidity, I don’t want to use anything heavy at all, but I do want to make sure my hair is moisturized. This is where the Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Créme comes into play. I love that I can use this product alone and still achieve elongated defined texture as seen here in my defined two strand twist. The Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme delivers great hold and even stands up to some of the toughest humidity taming those frizzies. Another thing I love about it is that you don’t need a lot to achieve your desired style and it will still give you ultimate moisture! All I need to do is  add a small amounts to the section of hair that I’m manipulating and I can rest assured that it’s enough to help me achieve my flawless coils, curls or ringlets.

When I’m feeling really fancy I substitute out the Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme for the Beautiful Textures Curl Definer Mousse. Using the quick-drying mouse allows me to achieve smooth, bouncy rods sets. It’s also great for smoothing down natural hair or even wrapping your hair if you plan to wear it straight.
