Origins Maskimizer Skin Optimizing Mask Primer

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I take my skincare routine very very seriously. I’m pretty sure I spent more on skincare last year than I did on makeup which is probably why I made Sephora VIB Rouge again (smh). The one part of my skincare routine that I’m lax on are my face mask.  I think one of the reasons I don’t care for them too much is because I feel they did more harm to my skin than good. After each mask my skin would just seem dry and then I would get an invasion of acne that seemed like it needed the mask in order to be unleashed.

So just when I had about given up hope on face mask Origins came out with their Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer the first ever mask primer to prep, prime and hydrate skin, leaving it more receptive to the benefits of mask especially Origins Mask. The Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer features Origins Marine Algae Complex, which does three key things to the skin. It optimizes the skin’s condition to enhance the mask experience, primes skin to perform at its peak and makes the mask application and removal easier making the overall experience that much better.

I wasn’t sure about the Maskimizer when I received it, but I gave it a try with the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay pod. After lightly spritzing the Maskimizer onto my face I found that application was indeed easier. The face mask went on smooth allowing me to apply an even layer all over my face. After letting the mask do its work I was able to remove it with ease and found that my skin was moisturized and appeared fresh.  I’ve tried the Maskimizer twice using the Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay. Did you know that those little pods can give you two uses? Just be sure to seal it in saran wrap and place it into a ziploc bag so it doesn’t dry out!

After two rounds of use I can definitely say I love how great the Maskimizer works. My skin isn’t dry and I didn’t have any acne flare ups due to my skin being irritated by the mask use. The Maskimizer can be used with clay, gel, cream, foam, or a charcoal mask. The only item it’s not recommended for use for are the peel-off mask.

Origins Maskimizer Skin-Optimizing Mask Primer is available for $22 at Origins as well as Sephora.
