Boscia Sake Brightening Mask and Cleansing Water Review

Boscia was probably one of the first skincare brands I really got into when I first started living shopping at Sephora. I was dealing with some major breakouts and I was looking for a brand that had more natural ingredients and wasn’t going to break my bank. The first product I tried, the Clear Complexion Cleanser, gave me amazing results so I stuck with the brand and started to use their Black Charcoal line. I’ve shared several of my favorites in my “What’s in my Skincare Stash” post.

I know how important skincare is, especially at night, but sometimes the last thing I want to do is drag myself to the bathroom to wash my face. Lately, I’ve been dabbling with different makeup removers as I’ve found that several of my makeup removers don’t remove my makeup as efficiently as I’d like them to. Since I love the boscia brand I was excited to give the boscia Sake Cleansing Water a try. The Sake Cleansing Water is a no-rinse cleansing water. Unlike other cleansers, this one has a milky formula and stated to be great for dull uneven and dry skin.

To be honest I was skeptical about this product when I first received it. Now a days makeup is made to stay on and in my mind, a no-rinse makeup remover really needs to pack a punch in order for it to really clean your face.  If you follow my snap chat (@being_melody) you may have seen my story where I shared that it took five cotton pads soaked with the Sake Cleansing Water before I had a clean face.

I tried this product again when on a lighter makeup day and it worked like a charm. It’s even great to use on days when you don’t wear makeup and just want to clean your face before going to bed. I did notice that my face felt like it had a residue on it after using the Sake Water to clean my face when I was taking off heavy makeup, but on lighter/no makeup days I didn’t have the same feeling.

Since I like to keep things in the family I also tried out the boscia Sake Brightening Hydrogel Mask. Sheet mask are in, they just are. It may be because they’re a lot easier to use than having to slather a mask onto your face. To be honest I’m still a fan of the old school method because these sheet mask can be tricky. The Sake Brightening Hydrogel is a two peice mask and it can slide a bit. Usually I put them on and lay on the couch and watch a bit of TV or read on my kindle. I haven’t seen immediate results after using these, though my skin does feel softer and a bit refreshed.

As I’ve mentioned before I think the boscia skincare line is a great line especially for people who are just starting to get their feet wet when it comes to different skincare brands. As far as a makeup remover I don’t think the Sake Cleansing water will be in daily rotation.
