My Taught You Retreat: Leaving It All Behind and Taking Leaps of Faith

Operating as often the only women of color in the room for the past ten years has been an exhausting trip. One where I’ve had to tone down who I was so that I could exist in a space that was not created for me to succeed in. Where diversity and inclusion meant I was the one called for the photo op. Where expressing my feelings of inequality deemed as being too angry not being a team player.  This experience has ultimately led to a trickle-down effect, where other areas in my life were being impacted by my pulling back,…

On Your Mark, Get Set, Shop!

We’re moving! I still can’t believe that in just a few short days we’ll no longer be Philadelphians. The entire process has been bittersweet. I’m excited for what’s to come but I know that I will miss a lot about the place that I’ve called home for the past nine years. Shop Your Faves with ShopBop’s Buy More Save More Sale

You ever just look in your closet and ask yourself what you were thinking when you bought a particular article of clothing. I’ve found myself doing that a lot more than usual lately which makes me kick myself for deviating from my capsule wardrobe. Admittedly I’m not too happy with my handbag collection. The Best Adventures Are Found in Books- What I’m Reading Through June

I read a lot, a whole lot. Reading is for me is a cheap getaway. One week I can be in a faraway land working with narcissistic dragons and the next I can be in the UK helping a detective solve a murder mystery. Reading gives me a chance to escape reality. Last year I made it a point to start incorporating more self-help and business books into my reading list. I decided that for every two fiction books I would read one self-help/business book.  Thank goodness for my Amazon Prime Reading subscription and Kindle Unlimited which allow me to…

The One Area I Can’t Seem to Declutter

Let me start off by saying I have not watched the Marie Kondo show that is taking the world by storm on Netflix yet, however, for the past two months my husband and I have been doing some serious decluttering to our home. We’ve lived in this house for almost six years, and we make honest attempts at trying to do the occasional spring cleaning. Being that we want a change of scenery, we thought it’d be a good idea to get a jump start on whittling down our clutter.  I also felt the mess in our home was keeping…
