This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sally Beauty. My hair has undergone lots of changes. It’s been purple and blonde, styled in a tapered fashion, and even completely shaved off in an undercut style. It’s safe to say my hairstyles have run the gamut, and while this year I vowed to keep my styles a bit more toned down, I still haven’t been able to avoid dryness. A while back, I shared with you all how I identified where my dryness was coming from, but I’m still working to treat this problem.  I’m a product junkie,… View Post

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #IDSimplyPure #CollectiveBias So my time as a doctoral candidate is winding down and it looks like I may be getting those magical letters at the end of my name as early as this summer. In preparation, I’ve been doing a lot of writing so that when I go before my thesis committee, and they inquire about papers I say “Tada” do a little jig and place these carefully crafted documents in front of them. They’ll be so awed my drive and willingness to take… View Post

I’m sharing #LISTERINE in my life as part of a LISTERINE® sponsored series for Socialstars™ Have you ever had that feeling that you wanted something bigger and better for your life but you just weren’t sure how to get started or what steps you needed to take get there? Stepping up to the plate and claiming your place in the world can be both a scary yet completely gratifying move.  I know this because I did just that in November of 2013 when I listened to that still small voice pushing me to rebrand my beloved beauty only site “Cosmetically… View Post

A couple of weeks ago I received a delicious package from Sleek Makeup featuring five shades of their LIP VIP lipsticks. There’s six lipstick in all.  The lipsticks are a full coverage semi-matte formula that glides on smooth. Since these are semi-matte lipsticks I would suggest exfoliating your lips before wearing. The shades range from a natural pinky nude to a true red. I was able to get a normal amount of wear of the lipsticks, nothing that was super impressive but it did last through eating, at least, one meal before having to touch up.  Some of the shades appear muted… View Post

I simplified my beauty routine with the RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5 in 1 Eye Cream  as part of a sponsored post with SocialStars. Thank you for letting me share brands I love with you. #WomenWhoROC  Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been doing a lot of purging. Purging my student loan debt (nothing but the devil), purging my fat cells through being conscious of what I’m eating, and also purging the clutter from my home.  You can probably say that I’m starting to adopt a minimalist attitude towards life. I hadn’t realized that all the unnecessary things in my house… View Post

I’m absolutely infatuated with “glowing”. Not strobing, but glowing. When a woman is glowing it means that something in her life is going exactly as she planned. She maybe received a compliment on her weight loss, something she’s been keeping to herself, or she’s living her best life despite the odds. This past year and well into this year I’ve been living my best life. Not everything is going as I want it to, but that’s normal. In spite of it all I’m living my best life and I want how I feel to radiate all around. So this is… View Post

This post is sponsored by Lunch Box all opinons are my own. Last week I shared with you how I was treating my dry brittle hair  switching up my regimen to one that was full of moisture. To keep hair feeling great you have to maintain that delicate balance between moisture and protein. After realizing I had way too much protein my hair I’ve been going through my ridiculously large stash of beauty products and making sure that only products that are going to give me a good moisture treatment are in the forefront. I like to switch things up… View Post
