Summer Living Room Refresh

For the past couple of months, I’ve been doing a few small and inexpensive upgrades around the house. I still haven’t built up enough nerve to drain our savings to have our old 1950’s pink and black bathroom redone (photos here), but for the most part, I’m happy with the outcome of each project. Last year I gave our living room facelift by changing out the curtains and upgrading the pillows which gave the room a whole new vibe, but this year I’ve found that I’ve grown tired of the curtains as they were a bit thin and I wanted…

Why Girlfriends Weekend is So Important to me.

This year I made a vow to be more present in the lives of my friends. I wanted to laugh with them and not just at something they posted on social media. **This post is sponsored by Head & Shoulders and SheKnows Media, all opinions are my own.** It’s crazy how time flies! My hair finally has some length to it, and this is with a 1inch trim to remove some of my not so happy ends. This time last year I was begging my hair stylist to tell me that my hair was long enough to be braided back so that I could wear a custom lace unit (I cringe every time someone calls it a wig) while my hair continued to grow out of that ugly, awkward phase. You know that…

The Hyundai Genesis G90 Brings Luxury to Our Girls Weekend!

At the beginning of the year, I told myself that I would live this year differently. I would take more risk, push myself into spaces that absolutely terrified me, and I would work on being less “busy” and more present. As I was leaving graduate school and saying my goodbye’s a colleague mentioned to me that she’d keep up with me via Instagram. I didn’t think anything of it because we weren’t close friends, but I at least figured she’d  shoot me a text or a quick phone call to ask how I was doing rather than opt to see how…
