Building my Winter Capsule Wardrobe

Just before Christmas, I became completely fed up with my closet. Seriously I was just over it! I found myself wearing the same things over and over, and whenever I had to pack to go somewhere, it became this huge ordeal as I had to try on everything just to make sure it fit. So one day I came home from work, opened my closet door and told the clothes “yall ain’t gotta go home, but you gotsta get the hell up outta here!”. I then began the ultimate purge. Anything that didn’t fit or I wasn’t absolutely in love…

I’m not Afraid to Rock my Legs

I’ve got big legs. Actually, I’ve had them all my life. I remember being in elementary school and sitting Indian style on the floor with my friends trying to figure out why my legs looked so much bigger than theirs. At that age, I was unaware at how proportionally different African American bodies could be to that of Caucasians. This caused me to be self-conscious as I wanted small legs like theirs. Spring Has Sprung

Thank you May for bringing the warm weather with you! It’s actually starting to feel like Spring in Philadelphia!  The weekend has been absolutely amazing, though I’ve had to spend a majority of the time indoors at work (missing The Make Up Show), I couldn’t help but to take advantage of this glorious weather and snap a couple of pictures of my new outfit which I felt was perfectly appropriate for this sunny day. During the warmer months, I love to play around with bold colors and prints. So when I happened upon this floral pencil skirt on Asos I…

About two weeks ago Loft did something they’ve never done before. They put Lou & Grey on clearance, and when I say clearance I don’t mean taking $10 off and calling it a sale like they do sometimes (side eye). I mean EVERYTHING was marked down to $15.88! Yes, you read that right fifteen dollars and eighty-eight cents! I’ve been holding out on shopping since I’m still losing weight with Weight Watchers, but I couldn’t resist doing some serious shopping and snapping up as much Lou & Grey items as I could.  Lou & Grey makes clothing for a comfortable…

OOTD-Cute in Camo

Military life runs in my family. My dad is a retired US Army Colonel and many other uncles also served their country. I did a small stint of Army ROTC while in college but quickly realized that it wasn’t for me. Though I gave up my BDU’s I still can’t help but love camo so when I spotted these Camo Twill Pants at Loft I just knew I had to have them. Since I’m a curvy gal LOFT Marisa cut jeans fit me perfectly, though I’ve had to painstakingly  learn that it’s not about the actual size on the jeans…
