I’m kind of surprised that I’m so late to get hip to the Kat Von D craze. When I saw the Kat Von D Studded Lipsticks on the Sephora website I knew I had to pick some up, and when they arrived I went back to the store and picked up even more!

This hybrid lipstick is formulated with Color Cushion Technology, which combines 10-hour budge-proof wear with vibrant color. Featuring a color spectrum for every skin tone, this lipstick lets you glide on velvety-soft comfort and eye-popping colors that range from classic everyday neutrals to bright shades.

I picked up seven of the I believe 29 shades that I thought really stud out to me. I went with a range of nudes and deep dark blue, something that’s pretty much out of my realm. I’ve swatched all seven for you below on a full face so you can get a true idea of how the color wears instead of just swatching on my arm.

Noble is described as a matte petal pink but it comes off more beige on my lips. I found the formula to be very dry. This is a color I would pass on.

Gothica, a shimmery bronze really caught my attention because of the metallic glitter that is within it. I don’t own too many gold lipstick as I still have flash black of the whole gold lips and black lip liner phase from the early 90’s. This lipstick, unlike Noble, was very moisturizing and I can see myself wearing it over and over again. Kat Von D Studded Lipstick Gothica

Wonderchilde is one of those lipsticks that will leave you spell bound due to its beautiful color. It’s described as an iridescent neon lilac but it does have a hint of pink shimmer within it. My lips are lined with MAC’s nighmoth lip liner and I feel if done right it would look amazing as an Ombre lip.

Now you guys knew I had to get a red. Adora is described as a metallic candy apple red. I’m not wearing a liner but I I feel with a maybe a medium red lip liner this color will really stand out. I like how it’s not a super bright red as the name would suggest but a little more muted . Kat Von D Studded Lipstick Adora

Wolvesmouth is a Metallic Berry. Perfect for the summer transition into fall. It does have a bit of iridescent shimmer in it but that’s what made me fall in love with it.  Kat Von D Studded Lipstick Wolvesmouth

Homegirl is definitely not my Homegirl it was super super dry and very patchy as you can see from my lips. Even though it’s described as a Matte Black Cherry I just didn’t like the formula at all. Kat Von D Studded Lipstick Homegirl

I am still on the fence with Poe, described as a Shimmery Navy. In the Tube it looks blue but on the lips it pulls a bit more purple. It was a bit patchy also but I already have plans to pair it with Technopagen liptar from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics so I know that’s going to be gorgeous. Kat Von D Studded Lipstick in Poe

The Kat Von D studded lipsticks are sold elusively at Sephora. They retail for $21 and are part of the permanent collection. I’m very disappointed with Noble and Homegirl and will probably be returning those to the store.

So disappointed these are so inconsistent! But I have had luck with the ones I’ve tried and Wonderchilde is my favorite for the cool hue. I love how it looks on you.

So disappointed with the darker colors! Wonder glide is pretty, though, and the packaging is pretty fierce.

Homegirl was like Motorhead for me, all patchy. I love how you look in Adora! Great swatches and review. It’s too bad this formula is all over the place.
