It seems as though each and every month I get busier and busier. I’m grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way and the ability to grow in my field and follow my dreams. Often times when you become so busy trying to get ahead in life you lose focus of the little things around you and forget how to just be still and live in the moment. Usually at night it’s hard for me to turn my mind off and then when I finally sleep it’s only to wake with thoughts of everything that I need to get done for the day along with questions like when’s my next deadline?, did I plan out that experiment?, do I have new content ready? or how close are we to paying this debt off? running through my head. 

One thing that helps me relax is spending time with family. My husban travels a lot for work but when his is home I feel comfortable enough to ignore everything that needs to get done and spend time with him. We have a friday night routine where we have dinner and then curl up in front of the TV to catch up on shows that aired during the week.  Moments like these are important to me as they allow me to decompress and to take time to stop and smell the roses as one would say. Since we’re on a budget my husband and I don’t go out to eat much instead I love to create amazing meals that make it worth it to gather around the table.
