If you were to look in my bathroom closet, you’d find an array of Shea Moisture Products for hair and body. The Shea Moisture line has been a consistent staple in my natural hair regimen since going natural years ago. During one of their BOGO sales, I introduced myself to their Lavender and Wild Orchid body line when my body had these weird itchy flare ups.  The thing about Shea Moisture is that with over 20 collections you’re bound to find something that fits you. So, don’t get discouraged when the first set of products you try don’t work. It’s all about understanding your hair and body and then finding products to suit their needs.  With hair and body checked off I was happy to see Shea Moisture venture into the facial skin care world with their Peace Rose Oil Complex Collection made for sensitive skin. The Peace Rose Oil Complex Collection is an 11 piece collection made up of items for the face, body and hair. I was sent over items for the face to try out for review.

The Peace Rose Oil Sensitive Skin Facial Cleansing Oil is different from other oil removers that I’ve used in that it’s noticeably thicker as well requires the use of water to create an emulsion to help you remove the makeup. Compared to some of my other products it actually took off my makeup just as well if not better which says a lot since it’s priced significantly cheaper than some of my other cleansing oils that you can check out in my “What’s in my SkinCare Stash” post.  This product contains Date Palm Oil and Camellia Leaf Extract, both of which contain antioxidants. One thing to note that this product burns like crazy if you get even just a little in your eye I’m not sure if this is due to fact that it contains Date Palm Oil and Camellia Leaf Extract, both of which contain antioxidants, but I would be careful when using this product around your eye area.

I enjoy using the Peace Rose Oil Sensitive Skin Moisturizer. Since there is a light scent of rose, which I’m not a huge fan of, I choose to use this product at night rather than in the morning as I can be a bit sensitive when it comes to scents on my face. When I’m asleep the smell doesn’t bother me at all. I like this moisturizer because it’s light and absorbs into my skin very well.

Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil Complex is Mud Mask for Sensitive Skin

I rather enjoy a relaxing face mask. My husband thinks I’ve gone face mask crazy but trust me using a face mask 3x’s a week will really do some amazing things to your skin! I’ve noticed that some people are complaining about this mask leaving behind redness and even experiencing a tingling sensation, but what you have to remember is that the Peace Rose Oil Sensitive Skin Mud Mask and mud mask, in my opinion, are bit stronger than other mask as they are made to pull impurities as well as excess oil from the skin. If you have oily skin I would recommend using mud mask once a week or once every two weeks as your skin needs it. For those with sensitive skin, I would suggest using this product once every two weeks. I would also suggest for you to only allow it to sit on the skin for five minutes as opposed to the recommended ten.

I also received a non-face product in the form of the Shea Moisture Peace Rose Oil Body Creme Lotion.  Since I’m not a huge fan of scent rose I used this product at night after showering. This lotion is soft yet very hydrating as it didn’t make me feel too greasy.

Overall this was a pretty good collection. Again, I’m not a huge fan of the rose musk scent, but when used at night it’s tolerable. I do believe that the Facial Cleansing Oil, Moisturizer, and Body Creme Lotion are great for those who have sensitive skin, however, I would reduce the use of the mud mask to once every two weeks if you do experience redness or burning as it may be too strong for you. You can find the Shea Moisture Peace Oil Rose Collection exclusively at Target.
