My 2015 Year End Hairstyle Review

Being Melody 2015 Hair Review

With it being the end of the year and all I’m excited to share my 2015 hairstyle review. This has seriously been a great hair year for me! I did some serious experimenting. This was probably the last year that I was really going to be able to have fun and try different styles before heading back into the workforce so I did it all. I grew out my hair from a low cut, then chopped it off into a tapered style. I got bored with that and shaved off my sides, then I got really bold and shaved it all off into an undercut and now I’m back at the drawing board. Since my hair is in an awkward phase I’m currently wearing protective styles until my sides grow back out to a length that I can easily manipulate.

One of my favorite ways to style my hair was in finger coils. They were so easy to do and lasted for a least a week even with my sporadic workout regimen. My go to products for this style were the Dark N Lovely LOC line paired with my favorite Ecco Styler Gel. I’ve shared my tutorial in the video below.

This year I learned to seriously forget what everyone else thinks and rock my hair the way I want to. Many people are afraid to experiment, but one thing you have to remember is that everything you do is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Every time I do something with my hair my grandmother makes it a point to let me know if it is or is not pleasing in her eyes, and so do a lot of other people, but since nobody is paying my bills I have no problem doing the things that make me happy.

I plan to document my journey growing out my sides and how I’ll be styling my hair more frequently as hair is something I don’t touch on too often with the blog.
