I’m pretty big on the whole treating people the way I want to be treated mantra. Recently, it’s like people forget that’s a thing, you know, the whole other people’s feelings thing. Extending kindness is probably one of the easiest things to do, and it only takes a second of your time. Since I’m all about making people feel welcome, I kind of go all out whenever I have an overnight guest. I find that whenever I spend the night at someone’s house other than my parents, it’s always awkward for me, I never really feel like I can relax. It’s simply not how I want my guests to feel, and so I make sure that their rooms are stocked with some of my favorite bath and beauty products to make them feel special and right at home.

One way to make your guest feel at home is to leave them a handwritten “Welcome note” in their room. You can leave it on the table or you can leave it on a specially curated cart, as I have shown in the photo below.  If you’re doing a curated basket or cart, include products that will help your guest relax and unwind. Aromatherapy is one of my favorite ways to relax, so I include scented products that the guest can use throughout their stay and take home with them as a keepsake.

One of my favorite fragrances right now is the earthy exotic scent of the Abyssinian & Chia Seed collection by Nubian Heritage. I want my guest to unwind, so it only makes sense that I provide them with products from this collection that contain ingredients with revitalizing properties like Chia Seed Oil and Amaranth Extract. There are so many products available in this scent, but I try to incorporate some of my tried and true favorites that they can use to complete their beauty routine from start to finish. They can choose to treat themselves to a nourishing body wash that leaves the skin feeling fresh and smooth or instead transform their bath into a spa-like experience by using the bath bombs. Sometimes I like to pair the two by soaking in warm bath bomb-infused water, so that I can relax and then follow up with a quick shower using the body wash to wash all my cares away.

Another item I like to include is hand cream. Before bed I always apply hand cream, it’s a habit that I picked up from my Grandmother so just in case my guest has the same predilection I always make sure it’s present. Since the Abyssinian & Chia Seed line by Nubian Heritage has youth infusing properties it’s only right that you treat your hands while getting your beauty sleep. It’s also great for throwing in your bag to use throughout the day. Not only does it keep your hands soft and moisturized but you take the revitalizing scent with you everywhere.

Like a hotel, I let my guest take the products home because more than likely they’re going to fall in love with the products. Restocking is easy since I can pick them up at my local Ulta or on Ulta.com (click here for more info). Nubian Heritage products are made with natural, certified organic, and fair trade ingredients so they’re great for all skin types, plus they have so many different collections that I never run out of products to share with my guest.
